About Dylan
Dylan Spinks was born and raised on Vancouver Island, where music was part of everyday life from a young age. Growing up, his father owned a music store that specialized in private music lessons, and Dylan spent much of his childhood going to school, hanging out in the shop, and eventually working there. Being surrounded by instruments, teachers, and students helped shape his love for music and his comfort in musical spaces early on.
As an adult, Dylan spent several years moving around and working a variety of jobs, gaining life experience and perspective along the way. Music remained a constant thread throughout this time, even as his path evolved. Eventually, Dylan settled down, started a family, and found a clear direction for combining his love of music with working with people—especially kids and beginners.
Today, Dylan lives in Calgary, Alberta with his wife and two kids. Life as a parent plays a big role in how he approaches both live performances and music lessons. He understands the importance of creating experiences that are fun, inclusive, and pressure-free—for kids, parents, and learners of all ages.

Why Dylan Loves What He Does
Having grown up around music lessons and now raising kids of his own, Dylan believes music should feel welcoming and enjoyable from the very beginning. His goal is to help children feel involved, confident, and excited about music, whether they’re attending a live show or picking up an instrument for the first time.
He focuses on creating positive musical experiences where participation is encouraged, mistakes are okay, and having fun always comes first.
